Joint UCU/People & Planet climate emergency teach out

22 February 2022, 13:30 - 15:30
Online (Zoom)

Joint UCU/People & Planet climate emergency teach out: Tuesday 22 February – 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Fossil Free Careers

Our universities are propping up industries most responsible for destroying the planet by providing recruitment pipelines into oil, gas and mining companies.

By helping these harmful industries secure the talent needed to make their extractive operations possible, our universities are perpetuating climate injustice.

Come along to this workshop, hosted by People & Planet, the UK’s largest student campaigns network organising around social and climate justice, to hear why these recruitment pipelines need to be dismantled, what we can do about it, and how their nation-wide Fossil Free Careers campaign provides the perfect opportunity for students and staff to work together for a university that makes sense for the future of the planet, graduates and the workforce.

Once registered you will be sent a meeting number and password for the webinar using Zoom a few days before the workshop. You will be able to join the session from about 10 minutes before the stated start time. I would also recommend that you do join 5 to 10 minutes early as you will need to be admitted to the session, and of course there can be technical problems.

Live transcription will be available. If you have any other additional requirements please let us know.

If you have any questions please email Glen at  gpickard@ucu.org.uk
